"Mary, I just downloaded your "Recession Pick Me Up" book. Your tone was so compassionate and understanding that I felt we were speaking in person. Yes, these are tough times for all, but I wanted you to know how valuable you advice was. Sometimes we all lose track of what's important in life, but your book helped me remember those important things. Thank you so much for your sound advice!"

Hi Mary Wishart

I think your booklet is awsome and very helpful. Life is full of the material side of things and there is a need for help in the coping dimension that is spiritual and personal. Thanks for that!

Hello Mary
I too have been hit by the recession and so turned to my old hobby of making jewellery. This earns me a little money and keeps my hands busy. I thought I would share with you what a friend has also gone through. She is a real estate agent and ended up having to shut shop. She went back to her original training and now bakes and bakes and bakes and supplies a home industry shop. She is doing very well.
Thanks so much for your inspiring booklet.

Hi Mary,

I had a quick read of the booklet last night and I really liked your well-planned straightforward approach. It contained well-written, basic commonsense advice, but was written in a way that did not sound patronising or know-it-all. I also liked how you encouraged people to look at their attitudes and form a strong belief system.

Kind regards,

Dear Mary, thank you for providing me with the opportunity to read your e-book.

When people become unemployed, they go through the same grief processes as they would when loosing a loved one. They experience loss of a daily structure to their lives, social relationships, a purpose in life and sometimes dignity, apart from the obvious loss of income.

I deal with the immediate practicalities of getting a new job as quickly as possible and if that works, life gets quickly back to normal. But if the process takes longer, people need a different set of helping skills, and your book provides some excellent advice to cope until the next job is won.

It is important to keep mentally and physically healthy and maintain a positive attitude so that depression does not set in as this brings with it another set of problems.

I hope many people read this little book and benefit from the simple and practical ideas it provides.

Hi Mary,

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your "Recession Pick Me Up" booklet.  Importantly, you addressed the areas of life we all shouldn't neglect, regardless of our life circumstances.  So, there is good food for thought...for everyone!

Having said that, I think it is a very encouraging place to find good ideas, which help towards becoming empowered at a time when one often feels stripped of options and control.  Significant change in our lives, although daunting at times, can give us an opportunity to learn a lot about ourselves; and I feel you really bring this out, positively.  There is very much a sense of normalising feelings, and lots of encouragement about not being alone, which is very sensitively and thoughtfully handled.  I like how you have divided priorities up under headings, and thought this particularly helpful, as when one is feeling worried or low about things, a short, uplifting chapter can be read for some inspiration and ideas.  Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts...there is wisdom in there that can make a difference,

Jenny
