About the Author of  "Recession Pick Me Up"

Mary Wishart was born in Serowe, Botswana in 1953. She lived in the then small village called Palapye. She attended boarding school in Kroonstad O.F.S. South Africa from age ten to seventeen, after which she then set about working and travelling.

She went to Australia in 1976 to join her English-born partner at a work camp in Telfer in the northwest area of Western Australia where he was engaged in building the airstrip. After spending six months there, she and her partner went to New Zealand where they got married and bought their first home.

After three years in Auckland, New Zealand, Mary and her husband went to Sydney for about two years, and then finally in 1981 settled in Perth, Western Australia. They have since raised two daughters and currently have three grandchildren.

Actually, if you would like to know about growing up in a small village in Africa -  my sister has written a book about my mother's and her life - this book is a work of literature which captures the essence of the human spirit .
